Mobility Mayhem 2026 proved that a little friendly competition can go a long way in changing how we get around the Triangle.
Throughout the month of March, 108 participants across Wake, Durham, and Orange counties logged their sustainable trips using Share the Ride NC, choosing options like biking, walking, transit, carpooling instead of driving alone.
This year’s challenge, sponsored by Fleet Feet Raleigh, added a competitive twist with the search for the region’s Top 28 sustainable travelers. Weekly leaderboard updates kept participants engaged, while special prizes including running belt bags, gift cards, and shoes encouraged a little rivalry along the way.
By the end of the month, participants logged 3,536 trips and 25,727 miles, far surpassing last year’s 16,000 miles. Those efforts led to an estimated 17,199 pounds of greenhouse gas savings and more than $3,300 saved collectively.
We especially want to recognize our top 4 participants, who led the way in sustainable commuting and earned themselves a new pair of sneakers from Fleet Feet:
1st: John E. – 155 trips
2nd: Sarah S. – 144 trips
3rd: Mike L. – 141 trips
4th: Harshi P. – 140 trips
Mobility Mayhem showed us how small changes in daily travel can add up to a big impact. And the rewards don’t stop here. With GoPerks, you can keep earning prizes year-round by tracking your sustainable trips, earning points, and entering to win, all at www.strnc.org.
