July 17, 2026 – GoTriangle is adjusting all of its 18 routes this August – changes that will improve on-time performance across the Triangle region. In addition, the regional transit agency is making a number of route changes to better connect people and the region with high-quality transit – particularly in western and southwestern Wake County and beyond. These changes include:
- A realigned Route 305 to better service NC State University’s Centennial Campus with new all-day access to Holly Springs
- A new Route 311 with direct connection between Holly Springs, Apex, West Cary, and Research Triangle Park (RTP) along NC 55
- Route 420 will be operated by green GoTriangle buses
- Schedule changes on all routes
- And much more.
“These changes reflect GoTriangle’s commitment to holistic improvements across the board to provide efficient and reliable service throughout the Triangle,” said Jay Heikes, Sr. Manager of Service Development. “We are confident that these changes will continue to make us the region’s trusted mobility partner.”

Starting Sunday, August 2, Route 305 will now serve Holly Springs on all trips and new stops will be added in Holly Springs. The route will be realigned to serve North Carolina State University’s Centennial Campus, Avent Ferry Rd, and Trailwood Dr. Route 305 will no longer stop along Jones Franklin Rd; riders should use GoCary Routes 1 and 6 and GoRaleigh Route 11L as an alternate. Route 305 will no longer stop along Western Blvd, Martin St, Wilmington St, and Salisbury St; riders should use Route 300 as an alternate. Route 305 will continue to run hourly from 6 am to 9 pm Monday - Saturday and 7 am to 7 pm on Sundays.

Route 311 will return in August between Regional Transit Center (RTC), Research Triangle Park, Apex, West Cary, and Holly Springs primarily along NC 55. The route will operate hourly all day from 6am – 9pm as a weekday only route. At the RTC riders can transfer to GoTriangle routes to Chapel Hill, Durham, Morrisville, Raleigh, and RDU Airport. Riders can also connect to the Holly Springs Hopper microtransit service at the North Main Athletic Complex.
GoTriangle will assume operation (from Chapel Hill Transit) of Route 420 starting Monday, August 3rd. There are no changes to service hours, stops, or frequency but there will be minor schedule changes. This weekday only route will continue to operate every 30 minutes between 6-9am and 3:30-8pm. The route will continue to serve Downtown Hillsborough, UNC Hospital Hillsborough, Durham Tech Orange County Campus, Chapel Hill, and UNC Hospitals.
GoTriangle’s Route 800 toward the Regional Transit Center will use new stops on the south side of Renaissance Parkway, across the street from the current stops, between NC 751 and Fayetteville Rd. This will eliminate the need for buses toward the Regional Transit Center to loop around Southpoint. Buses toward Chapel Hill will continue to serve stops on the north side of Renaissance Parkway.

At the end of August, for Route 400/405, stops will be added at Fordham Blvd and Eastowne Dr adding regional access to UNC Health Eastowne as well as nearby residential, retail, and office space, thus adding access to a major business and shopping center in the area.
Finally, the Route ODX stop at Durham Station will move to Willard St across from Durham Station to accommodate the Durham Station Improvement project led by the City of Durham.
