Tammy Romain, GoTriangle’s Director of Paratransit Operations, recently received exciting news at the 2026 North Carolina Public Transportation Association Conference (NCPTA).

During the annual meeting on April 28, Tammy was officially elected to serve on the NCPTA Board of Directors for the 2026-28 term. The board serves as the governing body for the statewide association representing 95 public transit agencies across North Carolina.

Tammy’s appointment reflects her long-standing commitment to the public transportation industry and the relationships she has built across the state throughout her career. While she had not originally planned to pursue a board position, encouragement from fellow NCPTA leaders inspired her to take the opportunity.

“I have served on the Roadeo and Conference Committee for approximately 17 years and had never really considered pursuing a board-related position,” Tammy shared. “However, earlier this year, several NCPTA directors from across the state reached out to encourage and nominate me for a director position.”

Tammy’s official service on the board will begin July 1, 2026. In this role, she looks forward to supporting initiatives that improve mobility, strengthen public trust and promote long-term sustainability for transit systems across North Carolina.
