September 14, 2026 – North Carolina State University students, faculty, and staff  commuting to and from Centennial Campus now have more flexibility and service options with GoTriangle Route 305.

GoTriangle made changes to service in August, including the realignment of Route 305. The route starts in downtown Raleigh, traveling to NC State Centennial Campus, Southern Cary, Apex, and Holly Springs on all trips, running hourly from 6 am to 9 pm, Monday - Saturday and 7 am to 7 pm on Sundays.

With new stops on campus, Route 305 creates connections to popular destinations like the James B. Hunt Library, the College of Engineering, and Lake Raleigh. For those living on Avent Ferry, Trailwood Drive, or at Wolf Ridge, residents can now access points all around the Triangle, including Downtown Raleigh and Crossroads shopping area, via public transportation. Or for those commuting from Southwest Wake County, Route 305 gives you a new one-seat ride without having to drive.

“Route 305’s new alignment shows what strong regional transit connections offer,” said Andrea Neri, Transportation Planning Manager at NC State. “NC State students and employees now have more convenient, all-day access to campus, along with a direct connection to downtown Apex and Holly Springs and shopping destinations in southern Cary. This change makes transit across Wake County more direct, accessible and connected.”

NC State students, faculty, and staff members can ride GoTriangle (and GoRaleigh) buses for free by signing up for an NC State GoPass at go.ncsu.edu/gopass.

“We are pleased to welcome Route 305 to Centennial Campus,” said Gabrielle Bubin, Transportation Planner and TDM Coordinator with NC State Transportation. “The new connection offers a valuable transportation option for commuters traveling from Apex and Holly Springs and makes using the NC State GoPass even more convenient for our campus community.”
