Discount fare qualifications
Youth, seniors and customers with disabilities enjoy discounts on one-way cash fare and on all passes. The discount one-way cash fare is $1 (or $1.25 on express routes). However, an acceptable ID must be presented each time a discount one-way fare or discount fare pass is used.
Accepted IDs for youth
GoTriangle offers a youth discount to riders ages 6 through 18 on an honor system, so no special ID is required. However, GoTriangle reserves the right to question any passenger using a youth discount who appears to be older than 18. To avoid questioning, youth who are approaching age 18 may present a government-issued ID with birthdate (such as a driver's license or school ID card), or a discount ID card issued by GoTriangle, GoCary, GoDurham or GoRaleigh. Apply for a GoTriangle discount ID card.
Children 5 and younger ride free. Learn more about taking kids on the bus on our kids page!

Seniors age 65 or older can show proof of age with a government-issued ID card with birthdate (including Medicare ID cards), or a discount card issued by GoTriangle, GoCary, GoDurham or GoRaleigh. Apply for a GoTriangle discount ID card.
