Retired Administrative Judge Charetta Harrington of the Cleveland, Ohio, Field Office of the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission will talk about the impacts of COVID-19 on employment law.

“Current conversations about returning to the office, COVID, workers and employers are constantly evolving, causing organizations concern or confusion,” says Kim Johnson, Mobility Management and Employer Outreach coordinator at GoTriangle. “This webinar is to help clarify laws pertaining to hybrid work place policies and returning to the office for both employers and employees and to get an up to date understanding of the most recent changes and their impact on daily business operations.”


Charetta Harrington headshot.jpgHarrington, left, was employed by the EEOC for 34 years before retiring in 2013. She currently volunteers with the Cleveland Field Office conducting settlement conferences. As a federal contractor, she worked as the acting branch chief assisting and consulting with the reasonable accommodation team. She also conducts federal EEO training for federal agencies that includes the 32-hour EEO Counselor Course, EEO Counselor Refresher Course, Manager and Supervisor EEO Training and EEO Training for Employees.


The Mission Impossible: Employment Law and COVID-19 webinar is the seventh in GoTriangle’s web series of 60-minute conversations on hot topics to provide company education and employee support since July 2020. Previous Mission Impossible webinars focused on COVID-19-related topics of cyber security, home office ergonomics, returning to worksites and mental health during a pandemic as many Triangle employees worked from home.


The series is provided through GoTriangle’s Employer Services Transportation Demand Management Department, which offers grant-funded services, programs and materials to extend GoTriangle’s reach by developing telework programs, forming vanpools and carpools and creating bicycle and pedestrian campaigns. TDM partners with the NC Department of Transportation and Triangle area municipalities, universities and public transportation agencies.
