Research Triangle Park, NC (Oct. 4, 2017) – Make it your goal to pass up any potential parking hassles by scoring a free ride to the North Carolina Courage’s semifinal playoff match Oct. 8. GoTriangle Route 300 will be free that day for those traveling to Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary to cheer on the National Women’s Soccer League regular season champs.

Those who show tickets to the 3:30 p.m. match will pay no fare on GoTriangle Route 300, which is operated by GoCary. The route stops at the Cary Train Station and on Chatham Street near the soccer park on its way between Cary and Raleigh. Board at the Cary Train Station, the GoRaleigh Station or anywhere along the route.

“GoTriangle and GoCary are excited to be partnering with the NC Courage as the team heads into the playoffs,” said Mike Charbonneau, director of communications at GoTriangle. “For the Oct. 8 game, your ticket gets you a free ride, but we hope Triangle residents understand that GoCary and GoTriangle are always their ticket to a safe, stress-free commute without the hassle of driving in traffic. We encourage people to check out their bus options with free Wi-Fi to work, school and other destinations throughout the Triangle.”

Route 300, which usually runs only hourly on Sundays, will run every 30 minutes from 1 to 8 p.m. Oct. 8 to accommodate the expected crowd of 10,000 Carolina Courage fans. Check out earlier hourly pickup times and other possible stops and routes at gotriangle.org or townofcary.org/gocary.

“We are pleased to work with GoTriangle to offer yet another way for our fans to easily get to Sahlen’s Stadium on Sunday,” said NC Courage President and General Manager Curt Johnson. “This historic match will be a celebration of our successful season, and we plan to pack the stadium. GoTriangle, offering free rides on the route that stops at WakeMed Soccer Park, will give our fans a great option to come and enjoy this momentous match without having to worry about driving or traffic.”

North Carolina Football Club Owner Steve Malik acquired the rights to the Western New York Flash in January, and the team was renamed the North Carolina Courage when it moved to Cary. As the Flash, the team was the National Women’s Soccer League Western Champion in 2016. The league has 10 teams.
