Joy Malone serves as the Chief Information Officer/Chief Technology Officer at GoTriangle, where she leads enterprise technology strategy, digital innovation, and the advancement of technology platforms that support transit operations and regional mobility. With more than 20 years of experience in digital transformation and technology leadership, Malone oversees the agency’s information systems, cybersecurity, data strategy, and infrastructure while also driving the integration of emerging technologies that enhance operational efficiency and improve the rider experience.
Her leadership bridges traditional enterprise technology with the innovative systems that power modern transit, including mobility platforms, operational technologies, and regional connectivity initiatives that support the future of public transportation.
Before joining GoTriangle in October 2024, Malone held strategic leadership roles across multiple industries including agriculture, automotive, and renewable energy, leading large-scale technology initiatives and organizational transformation efforts across the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. Her passion for public service also led her to contribute her technical and leadership expertise to support a local public school system.
Now a dedicated transit advocate, Malone regularly commutes on GoTriangle Route 700, experiencing firsthand the services she works to strengthen and expand for the communities GoTriangle serves.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina.
