Customer Information specialist’s kindness makes caller’s day and provides a way forward for grandmother!

Customer Information Specialist LaVontae Wilson’s actions and words on Feb. 20, made a big difference for one customer who called the Regional Information Center seeking help planning transportation for her grandmother. Caller Lawrence* was looking for a way for her grandmother to get to a rehabilitation Center in Durham.

Wilson helped Lawrence plan a trip for her grandmother using GoDurham transit and Durham Connect Northern Zone microtransit service. Lawrence was grateful, not just for the trip-planning service, but also for the way Wilson helped her and asked if she could leave a review about Wilson for her supervisor. The review went as follows:

“Thank you for being kind to people because as I’ve grown older I’ve realized that taking care of people will take care of yourself,” Lawrence said. “And it may not seem like it in the meantime, and you just have to remember that it costs nothing to brighten up someone’s day. So, I thank you for brightening up my day because you’ve sown a seed in me that will return back to you and be fruitful.”

The Regional Information Center provides a single source of information about public transit options throughout the Triangle by allowing customers to make one call to 919-485-RIDE (7433). GoTriangle staffs the center through a cooperative agreement with our partners GoRaleigh, GoDurham, GoCary and the Town of Chapel Hill.

Kudos to our Information Center team who are known for going the extra mile to help customers with kindness.
