GoTriangle continues toward its mission of “connecting people and the region with high quality transit” with the announcement of several route and service changes in early November that will enhance reliability and increase transit options for riders throughout the Triangle. These changes include hourly weekday service on Route ZWX connecting Wendell and Zebulon to Downtown Raleigh, as well as all-day Route WRX service from Wake Forest to Triangle Town Center and peak express trips between Wake Forest and Downtown Raleigh. GoTriangle is also making changes to other routes to improve on-time performance.
“All of these improvements are made with the end-goal of offering our riders not just more transit options, but more reliability,” said Jay Heikes, Transit Service Planning Manager at GoTriangle. “We are particularly excited about what these enhancements will mean to the people of northeastern Wake County.”
Starting November 9th, Route WRX will transition from being operated by GoRaleigh to by GoTriangle. There will be hourly weekday service, from 6am-8pm, on Route WRX. Two trips will run in the morning from Wake Forest to the Raleigh Union Station Bus Facility (RUS Bus) in Downtown Raleigh, departing Wake Forest around 5:40am and 6:40am. Two afternoon trips will run from the RUS Bus in Downtown Raleigh to Wake Forest, departing around 5:30pm and 6:30pm. All other day trips will circulate between Wake Forest and Triangle Town Center. During non-peak times, passengers can reach Downtown Raleigh by connecting to GoRaleigh Route 1 at Triangle Town Center, which offers 10-minute frequency. Additionally, connections can be made in Wake Forest to the Wake Forest Micotransit and Rolesville Microlink services.
“As Wake Forest continues to boom, more transit options are coming,” said Wake Forest Mayor Vivian Jones, GoTriangle Board of Trustees member. “I’m so excited for these service changes as our town and region continue to move forward.”

In Downtown Raleigh, the bus will continue to stop near GoRaleigh Station.
