Research Triangle Park, NC (Aug. 23, 2017)-- With the first day of traditional calendar schools only days away, are you stressing about how you or your child will get to school this year? Don’t forget that your local public transit systems are convenient, safe and easy to use!

GoRaleigh, GoCary and GoTriangle offer bus routes throughout Wake County that stop at or near our schools. Many WCPSS employees already take advantage of a more stress-free transit commute, and transit can be a great choice especially for magnet families who live outside traditional school bus routes.

Students receive discounted fares and can take advantage of free Wi-Fi to do schoolwork during their rides on agency buses.

Some charter high school and even middle school students already use transit every day and love it! Watch these videos to hear their stories:

GoTriangle has three routes that run between Cary and Raleigh and also offers some express busing between Fuquay-Varina, Wake Forest, Zebulon, Wendell, Knightdale and Garner and Raleigh. In addition to five routes that travel around Cary, GoCary has one route between the town and Raleigh. And GoRaleigh, of course, has well more than 20 routes that traverse the city.

You can map the best transit route from your home to a school using the trip planning feature on the GoRaleigh or GoTriangle websites. For more information on GoCary, please see bit.ly/gocary. For help with any agency, please call 919-485-RIDE.

Thanks to the community investment in the Wake County Transit Plan through a transit-dedicated half-cent sales tax, travel options will just keep expanding each year.

There is more than one way to take a bus to school!
