Carrboro to Durham Transit Service Begins Monday, August 8

Carrboro residents will have weekday transit service to Durham beginning on Monday, August 8th.
“We’re pleased to offer this service that meets a need we’ve heard from Carrboro residents,” said GoTriangle General Manager Jeff Mann. “By extending our former Chapel Hill to Durham route in the busy 15-501 corridor, we’ll give passengers an efficient one seat ride from Carrboro to downtown Chapel Hill, Duke, the VA and downtown Durham.”
The fare is $2.25 one way. The route will run in weekday peak hours.

Transportation and Business Leaders Announce New RTP Transit Task Force to Strengthen Regional Connectivity, Economic Development and Job Opportunities GoTriangle, the Research Triangle Foundation (RTF), the North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR) and the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority are forming a new transit task force to enhance connectivity to jobs, destinations throughout the region and to global opportunities.

GoTriangle Supports the 20th Annual Susan G. Komen Triangle Race for the Cure

This weekend, when thousands of Triangle area supporters gather to celebrate survivors, honor those who have lost their battle and run or walk to raise funds and awareness to find a cure for breast cancer, GoTriangle employees will be there to help get them to the starting line.

For the 7th year, GoTriangle will provide buses and staff to support the Susan G. Komen Triangle Race for the Cure.

GoTriangle and Transportation Advocates Continue to Monitor Proposed Budgets and Efforts to Remove the Light Rail Transit Cap

The proposed State Senate budget, like the House version, removes a $500 thousand cap on light rail projects that was inserted late last session, but the Senate version also adds new restrictive provisions that would further compromise the integrity of the Strategic Transportation Investments law, and put the Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit (DOLRT) project in jeopardy from both a timing and funding standpoint.

GoTriangle to Add Weekday Service for Carrboro

Later this summer, Carrboro will have weekday transit service to Durham.  The GoTriangle Board of Trustees approved the new service this month. 

“We’re pleased to extend service to Carrboro, giving passengers a one seat ride to and from Durham,” said General Manager Jeff Mann.  “Carrboro has been a great partner in developing this service and I expect the peak commuting hour service will be well received.” 

GoTriangle Board Approves Recommended Wake County Transit Plan

The GoTriangle Board of Trustees unanimously voted to approve the Recommended Wake County Transit Plan and to enter into an interlocal agreement with the county and the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO). This is the second of three votes needed to put it on the ballot this fall.

Wake County and CAMPO introduced the plan that will strengthen regional connections across county lines; connect Wake County communities to a more robust transit network; and provide frequent, reliable service to education, healthcare and employment centers.
