In January and February, more than 200 community members worked together to come up with three themes for the architectural design of the light rail. These themes celebrate cultural diversity, research and innovation, and natural heritage in Durham and Orange counties.
Between February and April, the team of architects responsible for designing the project’s stations drew guidance and inspiration from the workshops’ results. On April 24 and 26, the outcomes of their work were publically revealed during open houses in Durham and Chapel Hill. An electronic version of the open house was also available online between March 28 and May 11.
