Complimentary overnight Park and Ride spaces now available at Regional Transit Center

GoTriangle, the Research Triangle region’s public transit agency, now offers free overnight parking for up to seven nights at its Regional Transit Center (RTC) – convenient for those using GoTriangle bus service to travel to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) or even to those taking transit to overnight jobs.

“Our vision is to be our region’s trusted mobility partner, and we are so excited that we can take yet another step in that direction by making airport access even more affordable for current and future riders,” said Gary Tober, GoTriangle’s Chief Development Officer. “Anything that we can do as an agency to make transportation more accessible; we are all for it.”

Once at the RTC (901 Slater Rd, Durham, NC 27703), travelers can get to and from RDU via the GoTriangle RTP Shuttle, which runs directly from the RTC to RDU, or travelers can hop on Route 100 to stop at Terminals 1 and 2. The RDU Shuttle departs the RTC for the airport every 30 minutes between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. (The RDU Shuttle is timed to meet GoTriangle Routes 100, 310, 700, 800 and 805 for easy transfers.) Route 100 departs every hour from Downtown Raleigh directly to the airport starting at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and all day on Sunday.

Travelers must first apply for a parking pass prior to leaving for a trip; passes must be printed ahead of time and left on the vehicle dash. Please note that you must have an active Umo account to obtain a pass (and ride GoTriangle transportation). In addition, there is a limited number of parking spaces available (17 spots total) at the RTC, and offerings are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
