RFI (Request for Information) 20-080 Microtransit

GoTriangle, in partnership with the City of Durham, intends to procure on-demand service to support GoTriangle and GoDurham fixed route services within the next six to twelve months. This Request for Information (RFI) is intended to gather information, recommendations, and guidance from microtransit and transportation network company (TNC) vendors previously or currently involved in on-demand projects.

The gathered information will assist GoTriangle and the City of Durham in evaluating procurement options for our proposed on-demand services.

Upcoming Procurements

Regional Fleet and Facilities Study -- In the next 60 days, GoTriangle plans to post a Request for Qualifications for consulting services to perform a regional bus fleet and facilities study assessing fleet and maintenance facility needs for GoTriangle and GoDurham and planning for potential regional electric bus charging infrastructure. The scope will include planning activities, as well as conceptual design and cost estimating for potential sites for new facilities.

Durham Station Improvements Preliminary Design -- In the next 60 days, GoTriangle plans to post a Request for Qualifications for architecture and engineering services to perform project planning and preliminary design for upgrades to the Durham Station bus passenger terminal. Upgrades may include improvements to the existing station building, exterior passenger waiting platform, bus circulation areas, and surrounding landscape. Project planning activities may include cost estimating, scheduling, and preparing procurement documentation for final design and construction.
